WorldCon Schedule Best Novel Awards

The Prometheus Award for Best Novel will be presented in an awards ceremony over Labor Day weekend at the Philadelphia Worldcon. Worldcon organizers have tentatively scheduled the award ceremony for 5 P.M., Sunday, Sept. 2, just before a panel on "Beyond Ayn Rand and Robert Heinlein: Libertarian SF."

The 2001 Best Novel award will go to one of five finalists: Lodestar, by Michael Flynn: The Sky Road. by Ken MacLeod; The Truth, by Terry Pratchett; Forge of the Elders, by L. Neil Smith; and Eagle Against the Stars, by Steve White.

Among LFS members who plan to attend the 2001 Worldcon are Amy Rule and Fran and Kent Van Cleave, who will help present the Best Novel award, and Jorge Codina, Ed Nash, Melinda Pillsbury-Foster, and Adam Tuchman, who volunteered during LFScon to help out.

The 2002 Worldcon will take place over Labor Day weekend in San Jose, California. During the LFScon business meeting, Jorge Codina, Chris Hibbert, Lynn Maners, Fred Moulton, Melinda Pillsbury Foster, Bruce Sommer, Bill Stoddard, and Rick Triplett said they plan to attend.
