Because this issue is so late, the deadline for nominations has been extended to May 5th. Each member will be sent a list of the final nominations immediately. Advisory members should begin receiving the nominated books from publishers any time, since requests were sent out many weeds ago. Since we have more Advisory members this time, Ne sent out a set of labels with Advisory names and addresses to help the publishers expedite matters.
We're a little nervous about the length of the Advisory list. Thirty-five members may seem a little daunting to a small publisher. Will we pay a high price for growth?
To the members who wrote in to complain (justifiably) about the issue being tardy, I apologize, and also would like to invite them to Rochester (winter being nearly over) to help me get the next issue written, proofread, and pasted-up. Or just entertain and mother my baby while I do it. We've had an offer of typesetting a paste-up from Victor Koman that may be impossible to refuse, given the tight schedule of this editor. Again, my apologies.
