The Winner Of the 1986 Hall of Fame is either The Eye in the Pyramid (Dell, September 1975), The Golden Apple (Dell, October 1975), and Leviathan (Dell, November 1975); or the winner was Illuminatus! (Dell, 1984, I think) which combined all three books in one volume for the first time. In neither case did a book called The Illuminatus! win the Hall of Fame Award.
's and 's Illuminatus! trilogy, consisting ofJ. Neil Schulman, Jersey City, New Jersey.
My apologies to any readers who were confused by this error, The winner of the 1986
Hall of Fame was The editor
I can't tell if D.R. Blackmon was in a particularly contrary mood the day he wrote his letter to Prometheus, but for some reason decided that Neal Wilgus was the Enemy. D.R. may be a fan of L. Neil Smith's, but perhaps he has pulled the wool over his own eyes and can no longer apply critical analysis to Neil's works. In my opinion, as soon as we begin praising drivel (albeit libertarian drivel) we have lost our reason for existence and should disband. Michael L. Grubb Dunham, North Carolina
