The LFS newsletter, Prometheus, is now being designed, typeset, and laid-out on the editor's Amiga computer, After months of hard labor, the computer, the "Pagesetter" software, the Imagewriter printer, and the editor have all learned to function fairly well together. Many thanks are due to John T. Sanders for his work in tutoring the computer-illiterate.
The new system is going to be invaluable for designing LFS ads, brochures, and other materials. It is hoped that new-found computer-generated efficiency will enable the Prometheus staff to get the newsletter out on time and to quickly follow up on LFS business. (At least that's what it promised in the brochure.) For all of you that have been awaiting answers to letters while the switch-over has taken place, our apologies.
There are several projects that we hope to have time for now. One is a booklet containing the history, purposes, and rules of the Libertarian Futurist Society that would be sent to all members, new and old. Another is the creation of a large, updated mailing list so that our publication can get a larger readership and our awards will get more publicity. Advice or suggestions from members on any of these projects (especially from those who might be knowledgeable about Amiga computers) will be welcome.
