The Newsletter of the Libertarian Futurist Society

First published in 1982, the newsletter of the LFS, Prometheus, is devoted to libertarian science fiction and speculative fiction. The content includes book and movie reviews, interviews with libertarian sf writers (including L. Neil Smith, Vernor Vinge, Brad Linaweaver, and James P. Hogan), articles on libertarian sf, essays by libertarian authors, cutting edge news about authors and books, and updates on the annual Prometheus Award. No other newsletter comes close to the scope and mission of Prometheus.

Index of Previous Volumes

The index covers from 1982 to 2005 and 2010 to the present. We're working on filling in the gaps. We have sources or copies of all back issues, and are working on putting them all on-line. Our plan is to post the current issue as soon as it's available.

Prometheus is published quarterly (January, April, July, and October) and the subscription rate is $20 per year ($25 International). Subscription is included with LFS membership.

Submission Guidelines

Prometheus is always looking for reviews, esssys, articles, and columns of interest to libertarian science fiction fans. Prometheus, as the newsletter of the Libertarian Futurist Society, focuses on books nominated for the Prometheus Award, but Prometheus will publish any other reviews and articles concerned with liberty and culture.

Submissions can be of any length, from critical reviews or essays on particular writers or books, to brief two or three paragraph notes on books or movies of interest. For books, include author's name, complete title, publisher, date of publication, and current price. For movies include the director, studio, release date, and main cast. If released on DVD also include the price.

Contact the Editor about your material. If you include your submission in the text of your email also include an attachment formatted in Rich Text Format. All submissions may be edited for grammar, spelling, and style. If you would like additional contributor's copies of Prometheus, inform the editor.
